Delete a saved message analysis and check what remains

Remove one saved analysis or local history, then distinguish that action from deleting the original chat or shared copies.

Identify what you want to remove

A saved analysis in Clutch is not the conversation in your messaging app. Identify the saved entry by its person, date and summary before deleting it. This guide describes the implemented controls without announcing public availability. Do not assume that removing an analysis also removes the source messages from another app.

Why written messages get misread, and how to write a clearer one

Delete the selected analysis

In the saved history, each entry has a delete control beside it. Use the control for the intended entry rather than deleting another item with the same person’s name. The history store removes that entry and saves the changed list locally. Return to the list and check that the intended analysis is absent.

Use the separate full-history action deliberately

Settings includes a full-history erase action with a confirmation dialog. Read the message about saved text and analyses on this device before confirming. Cancel if you only wanted one entry removed. The implementation also has other data stores, so do not assume that clearing history is the same as erasing every type of app data.

Check future saving separately

The saved-history screen has an option for keeping future analyses. Review that option if you no longer want future results retained there. Turning off future saving and removing existing entries are different decisions. After changing the option, inspect existing history rather than assuming that it was automatically cleared.

Review original messages and external copies

If you copied text, saved a screenshot or shared an exported item, inspect those copies in their own locations. Clutch’s local-history command does not establish that they were erased. The original messaging app has its own deletion behaviour. Decide what needs removal in each place without claiming that a local action reached other devices or recipients.

How to say no by message, kindly and clearly

Use a specific request for data held elsewhere

If you need information about data held by a service, identify the data and contact that service through its stated privacy process. CNIL guidance explains that an erasure request has conditions and limits. This guide is not personalised legal advice. Local-history deletion is not a promise of universal erasure.

Questions

Does deleting a saved analysis delete the original chat?

No. The action removes the saved local analysis; the original chat is managed by its messaging app.

Does turning off future saving clear existing history?

Treat these as separate controls. Review existing entries and use their deletion actions when needed.
