Readable text in AI images: write a clearer prompt
Specify exact words and placement, inspect the result and choose between generated lettering and text added in an editor.

Decide whether the words must be exact
For a fictional café sign, small letter variations may simply make the image unsuitable. For a date, price, instruction or real brand name, the words need closer checking. OpenAI documents limits in text clarity and precise placement, so an accepted prompt is not proof that the lettering is correct. If exact text is essential, plan a version with the background created separately and lettering added in an image editor you already use.

Separate the words from the scene description
Write a small brief: the exact phrase, its language, where it sits, the surface carrying it and the intended frame. Our fictional example uses the short phrase "OPEN LATE" on a front-facing sign. Ask for no other lettering if that serves your brief. This is a practical way to inspect the request, not a universal syntax or a guarantee that the generator follows every instruction.
Use the generator’s documented text instructions
Midjourney documents double quotation marks around intended text in versions 6 and later, and recommends short wording. Our fictional example is: front-facing café sign with the words "OPEN LATE", clear block lettering, no other text. Save the phrase and inspect the result; this syntax belongs to Midjourney, not every generator.

Copy a LarpGPT prompt for the image tool you actually useInspect letters and layout separately
Compare the output with your brief character by character, including accents, punctuation and repeated letters. Then examine placement: is text cut off, hidden by an object or too small at the intended display size? OpenAI also documents limitations in precise composition. If spelling is wrong but the scene works, consider an editing workflow instead of adding increasingly conflicting instructions to the prompt. No example here claims to be a tested generated image.

An AI photo prompt comparison sheet: change one variableChoose generated lettering or an editorial overlay
Generated lettering can integrate words into a surface, but the output still needs inspection. An overlay in an editor gives you direct control over the typed text, while matching perspective and lighting becomes your editing task. For a simple announcement, a clean text area may be enough; for words painted on a curved object, the work is different. Use the comparison table to choose a workflow before spending another generation attempt.
| Question | Generated lettering | Text added in an editor |
|---|---|---|
| Who checks spelling? | You must inspect the generated output | You proofread the typed text |
| Can words follow a scene surface? | Possible, not guaranteed | Requires fitting the text to that surface |
| What can fail? | Letters, placement or composition | Typography, fit, perspective or proofreading |
| Does LarpGPT make this image? | No: it prepares prompts | No: use a separate editor |

Start from a LarpGPT scene, then adapt the brief
LarpGPT provides a library of photo prompts that you can inspect and copy for an external image tool. Choose a scene, preserve the original text, then add your exact lettering brief without contradicting its framing. LarpGPT does not generate the image or guarantee the text. Its existing guide on copying for your selected engine explains export differences; the aspect-ratio and one-variable comparison guides help you keep framing and revisions readable. Use fictional examples or material you have permission to use.

Questions
Do quotation marks guarantee correct text?
No. They specify the intended words in supported tools; inspect the result for errors.
Which quotes does Midjourney document?
Double quotation marks for text generation in versions 6 and later, rather than single quotes. Check its current documentation.
Should I use a longer paragraph in the image?
Midjourney recommends shorter wording. If exact lengthy text is required, consider adding it in an editor and proofreading it.
Can I rely on a generated date or price?
Compare it with the intended value before use. An accepted prompt does not verify the output.
Does LarpGPT generate images with text?
No. It supplies photo prompts to inspect and copy to a separate image tool.
Is adding text afterwards always the best option?
It depends on the brief. An editor controls typed words, but fitting them to a scene’s surface and perspective still requires work.
