Action, result or direction: choose what to track

Distinguish a completable action, a tracked quantity and a life direction without a score.

Ask an observable question

Before entering an intention, ask what you want to keep: something to do, a quantity to track or a way of living to cultivate. These three formulations can support each other, but describe different observations. Begin on paper with a sentence you will still understand in a month.

An action describes what you do

“Send my questions before Friday” describes an action. You can mark it complete when it is actually done and reopen it when correcting the record. The mark represents your declaration; it does not prove that a recipient read the message or that the appointment went well. Choose a title that makes completion recognizable.

A measurable aim tracks a quantity

In Erylio, a measurable aim keeps a value, a positive target and a unit. A fictional example is “five pages reviewed,” with a current value of two pages. The target is reached when the recorded value reaches or exceeds it. The app does not independently measure your work: enter a quantity you know and keep the same unit.

A direction remains open

“Maintain attentive relationships” describes a direction to cultivate. In Life, this direction has no deadline, completion mark or score. It can guide an action such as preparing a conversation without becoming a percentage of your relationship quality. A life goal to accomplish can instead be marked complete and reopened; that choice is separate from a direction.

Separate your action from an external result

You can send a request without receiving a reply yet. Keep the completed action and the still-unknown result separate. Linking the intentions is not evidence of causation and does not require simultaneous completion. For a numeric result, specify what you observed, its period and unit instead of turning an estimate into an exact measurement.

Try the three formulations now

Take one real situation and write three lines: a direction you care about, an action feasible today and an observation whose existence you can check. Fictional example: learn regularly; review one page; record the passages reviewed. Check the final line without giving yourself a personal grade. You can keep only the action if the other formulations do not help.

Keep product limits visible

Erylio stores intentions and their changes locally in the French version qualified on 14 October 2026. Its presence on an iPhone does not establish App Store publication. This first version has no implemented reminders, synchronization or commercial offer. An entered value, completion mark or history represents recorded data, without certifying your health, success or behavior.
