- Choose a level. At level 2, you compare each turn with the one two turns earlier.
- Each turn, one square lights up in the grid and a letter is spoken, for 2.5 seconds, followed by a half-second pause.
- Press Position (key A) if the square is in the same place as N turns ago. Press Sound (key L) if the letter is the same as N turns ago. Both can match on the same turn, or neither.
- The first N turns can never match: just memorize them. A session is 20 scored turns, about one minute at level 2.
How the score works
Each stream is scored on its own. Accuracy = hits ÷ (hits + misses + false alarms). Turns where you correctly pressed nothing are left out, so pressing at random cannot raise the score.
About a third of the turns (7 of 20) are real matches on each stream, and a few near-misses repeat the item from N−1 or N+1 turns back to test whether you track the right distance.

Which level should I start with?
Level 1 to learn the rules, then level 2, the usual starting point. Move up one level when both streams reach 80 %.
Is this the same exercise as in the app?
Yes: the page reuses the app's rules — 3×3 grid, the eight letters C, H, K, L, Q, R, S and T, 20 turns plus N, 2.5 seconds per turn and the same scoring. The app adds saved history, other modes and adjustable speed.
Is my score saved?
No. The page keeps nothing and sends nothing about your answers; it forgets your session when you leave. The iPhone app stores your sessions on your device.
Why do I hear nothing?
Letters are spoken by your browser's built-in voice. Check the volume and silent mode, or tick “Show letters on screen” to play without sound.
