DuoTalk: Privacy Policy

The short version

DuoTalk translates face-to-face conversations with Apple services. You do not create an account. Typed phrases, translations and the current conversation remain in memory on your device; DuoTalk does not send them to RevenueCat or TelemetryDeck. DuoTalk saves no audio recording.

Conversation and Apple services

DuoTalk remembers your selected language pair and settings locally. The conversation is not saved between launches and can be cleared in the app. Apple Translation processes text on the device after the required language resources have been downloaded. Speech recognition uses Apple Speech: depending on the language, device and system availability, Apple may process the audio on its servers under Apple’s privacy policy. Spoken playback uses system voices. Microphone access is used for the speech input you start with the microphone button.

Purchases and RevenueCat

DuoTalk Pro offers a weekly subscription, a yearly subscription and a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple handles payment; DuoTalk does not receive your payment card or bank details. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier and purchase and entitlement information to validate purchases, restore access and provide purchase analytics. DuoTalk does not supply your name, email, conversation text, translations or audio to RevenueCat. Prices, billing periods and eligible introductory offers are shown in the app and confirmed by Apple before purchase.

Optional usage statistics

DuoTalk sends usage events to TelemetryDeck: app and onboarding steps, translation completion or failure, paywall and purchase events, app version, interface language, region and days since installation. Translation events can include the two language codes, never the phrase or translation. An installation identifier is randomly generated and hashed before sending; it is not your Apple Account, email address or advertising identifier. Statistics are enabled by default and can be turned off in Settings using “Share anonymous usage statistics”. Development builds and simulators do not send these statistics.

What DuoTalk does not collect

• No camera access, location or contacts.
• No stored audio recording, saved conversation history, advertising identifier or tracking across apps for advertising.
• No sale of your phrases or translations.

Retention and your choices

Local settings can be removed by deleting the app. Deleting the app does not itself erase purchase records held by Apple or records retained by RevenueCat and TelemetryDeck under their policies. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings and restore purchases in DuoTalk.
