Privacy Policy
Tacet (iOS) · Effective 7 September 2026
The short version
Tacet has no account and no server of its own. Your tinnitus frequency and your journal stay on your iPhone. Nothing about them is sent anywhere, and nothing is ever sold.
What stays on your device
- The frequency, timbre and ear you set, and the previous settings you replaced.
- Your daily entries: the 0–10 answer, the factors you ticked, any note you typed, and the minutes you listened.
- Your preferences: sound, mode, volume, timer, reminder time.
This is a file inside the app. Deleting Tacet deletes it. Settings → Erase my data does the same without deleting the app.
What Tacet never does
- It never uses the microphone. It generates sound; it does not listen to any.
- It never asks for your location, your contacts, your photos or your health records.
- It shows no advertising and contains no advertising or tracking SDK.
Usage counters (optional, on by default)
Tacet sends step names and counters that show where people stop in the app — which screens are opened, how long a listening session lasted in broad ranges such as “between 30 and 60 minutes”, which sound and mode were used. They are attached to a random identifier created at first launch and hashed before sending; it is not your name, e-mail or Apple ID, and it is reset if you reinstall.
Never sent: your frequency, your journal, anything you typed, any audio.
These signals go to TelemetryDeck, hosted in the European Union. You can turn them off in Settings → Share anonymous usage; nothing else in the app changes.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple. Tacet never sees your payment details. To recognise your purchase and to count revenue, the fact that a purchase happened is also sent to RevenueCat, together with an identifier Apple assigns to your device for this app.
Notifications
The evening reminder is scheduled by your iPhone itself. Nothing is sent to a server, and no notification is scheduled at all unless you turn the reminder on.
The PDF export
The report is built on your device from your own entries. It goes only where you send it.
Children
Tacet is not designed for children and asks for no information that could identify one.
Your rights
Because nothing identifying leaves your iPhone, there is no account to access or delete. Erasing your data takes one tap in Settings. For any question about this policy, or to ask that usage signals already sent be deleted, write to [email protected].
Changes
Any change to this policy will be published on this page with a new date.
