Privacy Policy
Parlunea (iOS) · Effective 10 October 2026
The short version
Parlunea has no account, no advertising and no analytics tool. What you write, record or film stays on your iPhone: the publisher never receives it. Purchases are handled by Apple.
What stays on your device
- Your preferences: the language, the mentor, the situation, the goal and the level of support you chose, your practice rhythm, your reminder time, and your first name if you typed one (optional).
- Your practice: your answers, drafts, retries, reflections, notes, transcripts, any feedback you requested, and the dates and steps needed to show your history and resume where you stopped.
- Your recordings: the audio and the videos you choose to record.
These files live in the app's private storage. They use iOS data protection and the folder is marked to be left out of iCloud and computer backups. Nothing is synced between devices. There is no automatic expiry: they stay until you delete them. What you type is yours; avoid writing confidential details about other people.
Optional features, processed on your iPhone
- Microphone and camera: used only when you start a recording yourself. You can refuse and keep practicing in writing.
- Transcription: Apple's speech recognition, on the device only, when you ask for it. If no on-device engine exists for your language, Parlunea does not fall back to a server; you type instead.
- AI feedback: off by default. If you turn it on and request feedback, Apple's on-device model reads the text of your attempt and the exercise instructions. It does not receive your audio or your video. A suggestion can be wrong: you can dispute it.
- Mentor voice: a system voice installed on your iPhone reads a short phrase when you tap the speaker.
- Reminder: an optional daily notification scheduled on your device. It never contains your answers and there is no notification server.
These Apple features may need Apple to download voices or models to your device; that is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple. Parlunea asks Apple whether your subscription is active; it never sees your card or your payment details, and there is no Parlunea account. Apple gives the publisher totals of sales and downloads and, only if you agreed in iOS to share analytics with app developers, anonymous crash and usage reports. None of this identifies you.
Export and sharing
Settings › Prepare a data export creates a file with your preferences and your practice texts. It does not contain the audio or video files. You can also share a video from your history. Nothing is shared unless you choose a destination; the copies you send are then governed by the service or the person who receives them.
Deleting your data
- One session: delete it from Progress; its texts and recordings are removed.
- All your practice: Settings › Delete all practice data removes your sessions, your draft, your introduction answers, your recordings and the exports prepared by the app. Your preferences stay, including your first name, your mentor and your current path: clear the first name in Settings, and turn the reminder off separately.
- Recordings only: with “Keep local recordings” off, the audio and video of a session are deleted when you finish it, and the texts are kept. Recordings from earlier sessions are not removed by this switch.
- Everything: deleting Parlunea from your iPhone removes all the data it stored there.
Copies you have already shared and information held by Apple about your purchases are not affected by these commands.
Children
Parlunea does not ask anyone for an email address, a photo from the library, contacts or a location, and nothing typed or recorded in the app is sent to the publisher.
If you write to us
When you email support, your address and your message are used only to answer you, and are kept no longer than needed to handle your request. Please do not send recordings or personal answers.
Your rights and how to reach us
Because your practice never leaves your device, you can read, export, correct and delete it yourself in the app. For any question or request about your data, including the rights given by the GDPR, write to Gambinoromeo9@gmail.com. You can also contact your data protection authority; in France, the CNIL.
Parlunea is published by Roméo Gambino.
