The essentials

Mots de poche is published by Roméo Gambino. The app has no account and no server for your family’s memories: the words, photos, videos, voice recordings, first names, birth dates and books you create stay on your iPhone, and in the device backup if you have turned it on. Nothing is sent to the developer and nothing is sold.

What stays on the device

• Books: title, optional first name, optional date of birth, cover, page order and exported editions.
• Moments: words, stories, titles, dates, layouts, crops and stickers.
• The media you choose: copies of the originals (photos, videos, sounds), thumbnails and reading copies.

Deleting a book erases its data from the app; deleting the app erases the whole library from the device. An iCloud or computer backup made earlier may still contain it, under Apple’s terms, until that backup is erased or expires.

Photos, microphone and camera

You choose photos and videos with the system picker: the app has no access to your whole photo library. The microphone is used only when you record a voice, the camera only when you take a photo or video in the app. The app does no face recognition and no artificial-intelligence analysis of your memories.

Exports

The PDF book and the complete archive are created on the iPhone. You decide where to save them or whom to send them to; the app uploads them nowhere.

Usage counts

This version sends no usage measurement. An “Anonymous usage counts” setting exists; if it were ever used to send step counts (for example “an export succeeded”), it would carry no content from your memories and no personal identifier, and this policy would be updated first.

Purchases

Buying Mots de poche Complete goes through Apple’s App Store. The developer receives neither your payment details nor your identity; the app only checks with Apple that the purchase exists.

Children

The app is meant for parents. Book pages contain no advertising and no links to third-party services.
